Meet Ann - Teacher Profile
Ann is a middle school science teacher and she is aiming to use ICTs during class for the first time, but she is unsure of where to start. After being introduced to the SAMR model, she chose to determine which familiar classroom tasks she used to good effect in past classes could be substituted with digital technologies. This allowed her the opportunity to demystify the act of ICT integration as she was able to directly substitute familiar tools with new technologies. These offered no functional change in the type of tasks she was already comfortable using to enhance student learning, but allowed her to ease her transition to using digital technologies in a manner and pace of her choosing.
