AUGMENTATIONFollowing on from Substitution, the Augmentation stage is where technology still acts as a direct substitute for the original tool, though this time with some added functionality (Parsons, 2013; Puentedura, 2010; Schrock, 2013). This level begins to move along the teacher/student-centric continuum, where increased or instantaneous feedback enhances learning (Schrock, 2013).
At this level, you’re swimming between the flags under the watchful eye of the lifeguard; never too far from the safety of the shore. |
